About the Club

The Tullahoma Kennel Club of Tennessee, Inc. (TKC), licensed by the American Kennel Club, was formed in 1986 to promote responsible dog ownership and interest in the sport of purebred dogs in the Tullahoma area. Since that time, the club has instituted many programs of benefit to the local community and of interest to all dog lovers.

TKC offers conformation handling and obedience training classes and sponsors two dog shows and obedience trials each year. TKC is involved in community service such as providing bullet- and stab-proof vests to local police dogs through the Vest-A-Dog Program, taking Therapy Dogs on visits to local nursing homes, conducting the Pet Show at the Coffee County Fair each year, certifying dogs to AKC's Canine Good Citizen program, and making Public Education presentations to local schools, churches, and other civic organizations.

Upcoming TKC Events

Country Music Cluster Meeting: Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Shoney's in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (Hwy 231; I-24 Exit 81). All members are encouraged to attend. Please arrive at 6:00 p.m. if planning to eat dinner before the meeting.

TKC Christmas Party: Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Sherry Gibson's home in Manchester. Happy Hour (BYOB) starts at 5:00 p.m. Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. TKC will provide turkey, ham, and non-alcoholic beverages. Members are requested to bring a side item or dessert to share. If you would like to participate in the "Dirty Santa" gift exchange, please bring one dog-related gift (approximate value $15-$20) per person participating in the gift exchange. Please contact Sherry Gibson by email or by phone at (931) 596-3224 with the number of attendees and the side item you will be providing.

General Membership Meeting: Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Ruby Tuesday's, 1936 North Jackson Street, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. All members are encouraged to attend. Visitors are welcome.
